American Civilization I is the first part of a two part American Civilization series. This course takes students on a historical journey from the arrival of the first known inhabitants to the Americas, through European exploration & colonization of the New World, and onward to the creation of a Great American nation. Propelled by an array of historically significant events, America rises tall in times of war, times of
peace and times of great uncertainty. This course ends with the Civil War, the Reconstruction that occurs as a direct result of that war, and America’s shift in urgency to move and settle West.
